Another letterbox placed at Timberlin Park & Golf Course, Kensington, CT

Friday, April 09, 2004

Placed by: Mark & Sue
Placement date: Apr 9 2004
State: Connecticut
County: Hartford
Nearest city: Kensington
Number of boxes: 1

Directions:

Take Route 71 to Route 364W. Timberlain Park is on your right.

This is a wonderful town facility that contains a great golf course and walking/hiking trails that peacefully coexist with nature. On the day I planted this box, I noticed nesting swans, geese, bluebirds and a host of other birds.

Clues:

From the lower parking lot near the pond, head east along the paved road boardering the golf course.

After the fourth bench, notice that the road climbs uphill. You will see low-placed guard rails and a white, center stripe. This track is used for our annual fall soap box derby.

Continue up the track, still heading east, and notice a large fallen tree to the right about halfway up the track. Where the roots used to be, under some bark, lies a remnant of this past winter who needs your help!

Have fun and just get out there & box!!!
